On Sunday 27 May 2012 the club purchased the Astir CS from the Barossa Valley Gliding Club. With an LD of 38:1 (see the sailplane directory), the purchase will provide an aircraft to transition pilots from the K8 to the Pik20. The purchase was made possible by members who put their accounts into credit thereby effectively giving the club an interst free loan.
