Our airfield is located at Stonefield, approximately 75 minutes drive from Adelaide. The airfield has 6 runways, a clubhouse & several hangars. Our airfield is almost solely used for gliding, but sometimes other aircraft visit.
The clubhouse is where we can prepare a meal, watch some TV, and just generally relax before and after flying. We have a firepit where we often enjoy a bonfire on winter evenings with a BBQ.
Should you wish to stay over and do two days of flying, we have two options to suit your budget.
Our budget option is the bunkhouse with several bunk beds and some doubles where you can get a good night’s rest.
For a bit extra, we have 7 cabins, each with an ensuite, fridge and 2 single beds.
Gliders have to be inspected thoroughly each year. We have a maintenance facility at West Beach (near the Adelaide Airport) where members meet most Monday evenings to work on the club’s aircraft. It’s a great opportunity for members to lend a hand, but also learn about aircraft maintenance and engineering.
