Saturday 3/8 was a working bee at the field. A vast crew of our younger members were up to lend a hand with Redmond’s favourite building material – concrete. The tracks for the hanger doors and aircraft dollies were laid, as were the four pie-cart tie-down points and the 2 new windsock poles. Leigh & Derek extracted the front motor from the winch and Brandon learned how to use the slasher (with the new ‘tennis ball’ tyre) and slashed the area between the hangers and quite a bit of the RWY 29 landing area.
Much writing of names and paw prints was done in the drying cement to commemorate the occasion.
At the end of the day we had a Thai dinner.
