Flying Sunday 7 November 2010

The morning briefing started at 10:30 in the Private Hangar as we discussed goals for the day and came up with a plan to optimise the day’s operations.

First flight was had by ~11am and the day was off to a great start with Jon breaking a weak link on the first launch! The day seemed to not have much to offer with regards to thermal height, frequency and structure; and what little lift there was, was scattered by a gusting 20 knot breeze. Sam managed an 18 minute flight and Jon scratched away for 37 minutes, however the rest of the day was limited to long circuits.

We also had a lot of weak link breaks and launch failures.

Cathy Conway made progress with the Form 2 for the Motorfalke. KRO’s wings were removed and are ready to be inspected.

We welcome Mark Davis to the club and welcome back Markus Broecker who signed up today. Both put in solid efforts at launch point, on the winch and also with Form 2 work.

Thanks to Cath for overseeing and allowing GMI to fly for all the non Independent Ops pilots. And lastly thanks to everyone for their efforts at the end of the day to derig KRO.
