A 5700′ day with a 15kts SW breeze and light cu to the west. We had a fairly consistent westerly over the Mt. Lofty Ranges and Dennis Medlow found very smooth lift just east of the field from about 3000′ to 5000′ which may not have been entirely due to thermals….
The K13 flew with Kim Van Wessem, two AEF’s, Wayne and his daughter Maddy. Sarah Allen took the Astir for a whirl and Leigh Stokes got flight of the day in the K8. Greg Newbold was lucky enough to take the K8 for 2 circuits late in the day and by all accounts flies well.
Power pilot Udana came up for a visit and is planning in joining the club for some real flying in February. He managed to get a short flight in the K13 at the end of the day.
Thanks to Greg for arriving from Murray bridge and then instructing and Dennis and Leigh for the great winching. Thanks to Ted and Derek’s work last week we did not have any cable breaks.
It is vital you extract and repack aircraft very carefully in our hangar. There is very little space between expensive fragile aircraft bits. Take your time and be careful when lifting heavy bits like the Astir tailplane. The Astir will not fit on the South track therefore all aircraft are currently on their dollies on the North track.
