Flying Saturday 2 Juy 2011

Redmond’s confidence that the day would be good for flying seemed somewhat dubious as I left Adelaide in dark overcast and rainy conditions. But lo – once over the ranges it all dried up and apart from a few heavy showers (conveniently at lunchtime) the field was mostly dry. We had ~13 flights, all courtesy of the FDU winch – most of which were circuits. Dennis & Regius took the Falke up to 3000 to explore the wave like cloud over the field – there was lift, but patchy and inconsistant.

Matthew Scutter had more opportunities to winch launch whilst his father had more practice winch driving and working the bugs out of the FDU BMW.

More slashing of strips was done on 05 & 34. We flew until (almost) dark and the rain came back just as we put the Pukatek away in the hanger.
