Flying 29 & 30 March 2015

The weather on Saturday didn’t work out to be as good as hoped due to the high level of cloud cover. Despite the cloud cover, there were some thermals around. Darren and Derek Spencer got to 3000’ for a 36 minute soaring flight. There were some other shorter soaring flights as well. It was quite evident though, that if there hadn’t been any cloud cover, the thermals would have been very good.

The weather on Sunday was better than Saturday with less cloud cover and more heating from the sun. Even the Cherokee could stay up and got a 40 minute flight. Leigh Stokes got height of the day, topping out at 6000’.

Congratulations to Myron Hall who went SOLO on Sunday. Well done!

Thanks to everyone who helped out with running operations over the weekend.
